Norfolk Beaches — A Short Drive from Mill House Bungalow

One of the quiet pleasures of staying at Mill House Bungalow is the choice: in one direction, the Broads; in the other, the coast. The beaches along this stretch of Norfolk are wide, unspoilt, and rarely crowded outside peak summer.

Horsey Gap — Seals and Sand

Horsey Gap is the most remarkable beach on this stretch of coast. Between November and February, grey seals haul out in their hundreds to pup in the dunes — one of the largest grey seal colonies in England. The National Trust manage the site with wardens during the season.

Horsey is approximately [x] miles from Potter Heigham and well signposted.

Waxham Beach

A quiet, wide, sandy beach with a small car park and a low-key atmosphere. Good for long walks with or without a dog — seasonal restrictions apply, check before visiting.

Sea Palling

A larger beach village with a cafe, beach shop, and lifeguards in summer. The artificial reef here creates unusually calm conditions. Dog restrictions on the main beach in summer — check local signage.

Eccles-on-Sea

An unspoilt beach popular with local families and walkers. Cars park on the grass — very informal, very Norfolk.
